Council on Outcomes-based Veterinary Education (COVE)

The Council on Outcomes-based Veterinary Education (COVE) was established in 2020 to oversee, manage, and coordinate the implementation of, and the interconnected activities associated with, the defined Operations Plan (2020-2022) for Competency-Based Veterinary Education (CBVE). The work of COVE in implementing outcomes-based veterinary education across the learning continuum, conducting research on questions of importance related to CBVE, and advocating for the integration of CBVE with key stakeholders is core to advancing veterinary medical education. In order to carry out this work, membership of the CBVE Working Group was expanded by soliciting nominations for three volunteer working groups (Analyze, Catalyze, Advocate). The organizational structure for how COVE functions in providing oversight, coordination, and management of the three Working Groups and their associated activities/outcomes is as follows:
